The organization "National technique" of Macedonia was founded in 1946. Its main task was to educate and to qualify the young in the field of technical knowledge and to train staff of reconstruction and building of the country. In that time, activities of this organization were directed toward several technical branches: aeronautics, radio-amateurism, motoring, photo and cinema-amateurism. During its 54 years development, the organization "National technique" of Macedonia, following the scientific and technical progress, developed many activities. The results are obvious in education, science, defense, in discovering and stimulating talented young people in economy. A big number of amateurs who had been members of the numerous organization of "National technique" , today is respected scientific and research workers, academicians, university professors, constructors, well known art photographers and film workers, pilots, drivers, etc. Today, over 5.000 educative, scientific and other professionals, voluntary are included in the system for developing technical knowledge and culture of the young; they work in over 3.800 basic organizations of "National technique" .

The organization "National technique" of Macedonia realizes its activities through the basic organizations united in township organizations of "National technique" and through professional associations – specialized organizations united in "National technique" .

The activities of "National technique" expand on the territory of the whole Republic, through township conferences.

Since 1948 "National technique" of Macedonia developed many activities on 30 township in Macedonia. In time "National technique" township conferences were constituted; they became important factor in the technical culture development of the country. These organizations of "National technique" working in the townships, give a special contribution to the expanding of the technical culture in schools, factories, residents organizations, villages etc. Their active attitude in forming and developing specialized organizations of professional associations, included in "National technique" of Macedonia (clubs, associations, polygons, laboratories, sections, workshops etc.) is worth to be mentioned.

The expansion of the activities of "National technique" of Macedonia enabled increasing the number of specialized organizations united in it. They are: The Association of Radio-amateurs, The Photo Association, The Cinema Association, The Association of inventors and authors of technical improvements, : The Association of Young Technicians and Naturalists, The Association of clubs for technical knowledge, The Association of Astronautic and Rocket organizations, the Micro-computing and informatics Association, the organizations of Students cooperatives, the Association of Organizations of the movement "Science of youth" , the Association for underwater activities, Gliders Associations, the Associations of Still Waters Kayaking, the Association of Wild Waters Kayaking, the Republic Committee of Technique and Production teachers, The Republic Committee of the Association "Nikola Tesla" .

All associations of "National technique" realize their specific program tasks, which have important professional and technical contents.

Among the mass activities of "National technique" are the Reviews of Young Technicians and Naturalists with about 7000 participants from the primary schools and the Reviews "Science of Young" with over 3.000 participants from the secondary schools.

Very popular are the competitions of production workers from many fields of specialization’s: metal industry, textile industry, civil engineering, agro-complex, wood industry, forestry, etc. Every year these competitions include over 5.000 workers.

The Associations of Inventors and Authors of Technical Improvements unite the innovators and the rationalizators; during the period from 1957 till 2000, they realized 700 protective products and over 30.000 innovations and rationalizations.

The Association of Radio-Amateurs contribute to the development of radio-amateur communication, radio construction and forming a "Net for danger" .

The Photo Association and Cinema Association contribute to the development of photo radio and film knowledge, the development and improvement of photo and film creative work.

"National technique" of Macedonia was first to introduce the mass training of the young in the field of micro-computing.

"National technique" of Macedonia – its basic organizations posses a relatively firm material and technical base.

In the 17-th technical knowledge centers there are workshops for processing wood, metal, plastics, glass and other compound materials, photo-video-cinema laboratories, workshop of micro computing, radio-communications, laboratories for scientific and research activity, for knowledge of traffic, for electronics etc.

In the township centers, in resident organizations, and in the parts of the country where there are not centers for technical knowledge, there are many clubs for radio, photo-cinema, motoring, water sports and underwater activities, the authors of technical improvements, young technicians and other are organized on territorial principles.

Up to now, the organizations of "National technique" in the townships, and the specialized organizations, have about 300.000 members.

Such a wide scale of activities and the noble mission of the organization "National technique" of Macedonia, found their place in the interests of the state. Namely, the program activities of this organization are financially helped by the state. The Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia , having in mind importance of the technical knowledge, regulated by law this matter. Thus, the Department of development and improvement of the technical knowledge is founded at the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Macedonia.
